WELCOME

The East Coast Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. (ECCTAI) brings together, in a spirit of friendship and goodwill, all persons who share in the aspirations and successes of the men and women who pioneered in military aviation and in the Tuskegee Experience. We are dedicated to fostering recognition of and preserving the history of Black achievements in aviation, and to inspiring and motivating young men and women toward endeavors in aviation, aerospace, science, technology, engineering and mathematical careers.

2026 GRANTS

Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation

(applications accepted now)


Each year the Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation (TASF) grants scholarship awards to deserving young men and women. The number of scholarship awarded is directly related to income received from Foundation investments. Forty (40) awards of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500) are typically available each year. These $1,500 awards are provided on a one-time, first year basis only. 

Applicants must be students from accredited high schools who have graduated or will graduate in the spring of the academic cycle. Additionally, those who apply must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least three point zero (3.0) on a four-point scale. The Foundation places particular emphasis on students who will pursue careers in aviation, aerospace, and science technology, honoring the living and deceased members of the Tuskegee Airmen who overcame racial barriers to achieving their dreams of becoming pilots, aviators, as well as air and ground support personnel.

Application forms and instructions may be obtained from high school guidance counselors or a Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. local Chapter. Completed applications must be returned to the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. Chapter nearest the applicant on or before the stated deadline in the application form. Applications that do not meet technical requirements may be eliminated from further consideration.

2026 ECCTAI Educational Assistance Award Program

Each year the East Coast Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. (ECCTAI) assists financially disadvantaged deserving young men and women in pursuit of education, preferably leading to careers in the fields of aviation, aerospace, and science and technology.

Applicants must be students of accredited high schools who have graduated or will graduate in the school year. In addition, applying students must have a GPA of at least three points (3.0) on a four-point scale.  Each applicant must complete the entire application and provide:

    ATTACHMENTS REQUIRED:

    1. An OFFICIAL Copy of Student’s High School Transcript, senior year schedule.
    2. A wallet-sized picture of the Student -- On the back of the of the picture, put name, last four [4] digits of Social Security Number, e-mail, and telephone number.
    3. A copy of parent(s)’ latest IRS Form 1040 (2024 preferred, but 2023 acceptable) through adjusted gross income line or other OFFICIAL document (W-2/W-4 not acceptable); SSN may be “blacked out”
    4. Three Letters of Recommendation (from Counselors, Instructors, Community Leaders, etc.).
    5. “The Tuskegee Airmen” Essay (include how their experience impacts you).  Typed, double-spaced, not to exceed one [1] page.
    6. A personal essay, typed, double-spaced, not to exceed two [2] pages
    7. List of Extracurricular and Community Activities (including Junior ROTC, Civil Air Patrol, BSA, GSA or Explorer Scouts).

    Applications for education assistance received by the East Coast Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. are screened, verified as deemed appropriate, and competitively evaluated considering academic achievement, extracurricular and community activities, relative financial need, recommendations, and both essays.  Finalists (selectees and non-selectees) will receive individual notices of final results from the East Coast Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.
